June 2019

Dear Residents

The month starts with an appeal for information please; an outbuilding was broken into between May 13th and 16th in Woods Lane, Cliddesden. On June 2nd, a shed was broken into at the Allotments in Ellisfield, where a strimmer was stolen. A white Transit van with a registration number of 05.D.1144 was seen in the area. In addition, damage was caused to a padlock and chain in the allotments area. If anyone saw anything suspicious please call PC Reid directly – thank you.

Recently in Herriard garden ornaments have been stolen. This includes from a house alongside the A339 where an ornate metal post box was stolen, the same night a staddle stone top was also taken. Both were heavy so several men would have been required to remove them.

Across the area we have experienced several non-dwelling burglaries especially in the Whitchurch area where there have been thefts of garden equipment, strimmers, chainsaws etc. All Residents are strongly urged to please record serial numbers and model numbers and take photographs of expensive equipment for your records.

Many thanks as always for your support and vigilance
