For those of you who visit the Gravel Pits and perhaps even rest awhile on one of the two benches there, you will notice a beautiful new bench, which has been given to the village in memory of Sally Adams. Her niece, Verity, has arranged for this very attractive bench to be donated to Ellisfield and wished it to be situated within the vicinity of the Wine Walk, which Sally initiated. There is a very apt inscription on the bench which reads – “ Sally Adams: June 1933-May 2014 Teacher, Tadpole Nurturer, Wine Walk Initiator and staunch friend of Ellisfield”
I think all of us who knew Sally will be delighted to have this permanent memorial to her.

Peter Raine, joint Parish Clerk has posted the following:
The following is a notice for a vacancy in office of Parish Councillor on the Ellisfield Parish Council.
“David Richards served on the Parish Council for nearly 10 years. His thoughtful
and well balanced contributions were always much appreciated. His special
responsibilities included representing Ellisfield at the Basingstoke & Deane
Association of Parish Councils (BDAPTC) which he regularly attended, and
Highways issues. As Ellisfield’s point of contact with Highways, he had the
thankless task of time and again communicating our pot hole problems. Others
would have given up in frustration but he manfully discharged the duty for a
number of years, for which we are very grateful. He also, at the time of the flash
floods two years ago, produced a comprehensive map of Ellisfield’s grips, drains,
culverts and ditches. We are grateful for his service and we will miss him.”
